Paediatric Orthopedic

Dear Eudora,

Since you started walking, daddy & mommy noticed your left foot tends to face outwards while your right foot is normal facing front. Decided to ask Dr Anne during your vaccination visit if its a cause for concern.

After checking that your feet and reflexes are normal, she says it isin't a cause for concern. Might be a case of lax muscle as you just started walking not long ago. Sensing our concern, she also wrote a letter of referral to Professor James Hui from National University Hospital (NUH) on the off chance that we may want to have a specialist opinion. Was discussing with daddy that we may not bring you for the referral as you're still young and might correct yourself in the weeks ahead.

Few weeks after the visit to Dr Anne, we decided to bring you for a consultation 'Just In Case'. Appointment was made for tuesday 11.08.09 time at 9.50am. On the day of consultation, we had to wait for about close to an hour before we got to see Professor James. You cried upon him touching your legs for examination. Luckily mommy bought a banana cake slice to entice you to walk for Professor James to examine.

You weren't very co-operative and refused to be laid on the bed for Professor James to examine you and clung onto mommy for dear life! Gosh... luckily the diagnosis was everything was fine with you and your walking misalignment might be due to lax muscle which will correct itself in time. Professor James advance was to get some sports shoes for you as its more hardy and will restrict the direction your feet would move.

More reasons for buying shoes my darling... Let's see when the next sale will be... =)

Sighz,
Mommy
