Our Babies Eudora & Elena: Superstar Virgo Cruise

Dear Eudora,

Just back from our 2 night Malacca/Kuala Lumpur cruise holiday. Hope you had as much fun as daddy & mommy did. This cruise was kind of short and an impromptu trip as daddy job switched, thus the only available dates were inline with this cruise duration which was why we chose this vacation.

Ah Mah and Ah Gu were very kind to see us off at Harbourfront Centre on the 23rd September which was a wednesday. A big thank you to them as mommy couldn't see both daddy & mommy carrying you and lugging all our stuff to harbourfront without their help. The time for boarding the cruise ship was from 8.30pm and although we reached at 8.40pm the queue for boarding hasn't started moving yet, thus we had to queue with all the other passangers which was very chaotic as indoneisia was having their one week holiday and many in the queue waiting to board the ship were tourists.

Luckily mommy had the hind sight to do city check-in at Park Mall the day before (there was no queue at all) thus we could just queue in the boarding queue instead of having to queue at the check-in queue too. Whew!!! Heaving a sigh of relief not having to jostle with all the others at the check-in queue which was winding like a snake. (By the way, balcony class has a special check-in queue too) The other thing that mommy felt was a wise choice and worth every single cent was of choosing the balcony cabin instead of the interstate, porthole or window cabins. Why??? As we're paying premium rates, we get premium queue too which was much shorter!!! There was an even shorter or non-exsistent queue for admiral class passengers which mommy can only drool as those were for the junior suites passengers... the price which these passengers are paying are definitely much more than what we paid (which is already very expensive!).

Ok enough of envying others... we only get the service which we pay for right? thus we manged to get on board the ship at about 9.25pm which was pass your bedtime already. All the queueing and jostling with the crowd plus being awake after your usual bedtime has made you a super cranky girl. We quickly went in search of our cabin foregoing our welcome drinks and festivities. Luckily managed to find our cabin quickly, fed you your milk but alas you only drank a little. Changed you into your pajamas to get you ready for bed but you didn't want to sleep and kept tossing around. Daddy decided to bring us for a quick supper instead and we headed to the mediterranean buffet restaurant on deck 12. Quickly finished our food and back to the cabin for you to sleep.

Daddy went to explore the ship while mommy tucked you to bed and pretty soon you were in dreamland. With you sleeping, mommy couldn't go anywhere except the balcony to watch the view from there. When daddy's back, its mommy's turn to go out and explore. Found a comedian staging a show in the theatre and sat down to watch for a spell before exploring the deck and other areas of the ship. Went back to the cabin to relieve daddy of his duties and to see if he wants to explore further but he didn't thus we spent the time unpacking and watching the views from our balcony. Really couldn't imagine if we didn't reserve the balcony cabin and had a window or porthole instead. Think mommy will really go crazy cooped up in the cabin.

While you were asleep, the ship lifted anchor and left the harbour starting its journey at 11.59pm. Daddy & Mommy had a great time taking in the views from our balcony watching the world passby us. Watching the ship slowly leaving the harbour sailing for the open seas. The night view of singapore was spectacular with some parts of the IR lighted up already. Soon we were in the open seas and there was total darkness other than the occasional ship passing us by. Time for dreamland as my darling you will be up at the light of dawn and daddy & mommy have to reserve other energy for you tomorrow =)

On early thursday, you awoke bright and early as usual at 7am. The sky was rather dark and it was drizzling outside. Daddy & mommy didn't had a good rest as mommy was sharing the queen size bed with you while daddy slept on the sofa-bed beside you. Daddy couldn't sleep on the queen size bed too, as it was just too small to accomodate the 3 of us. With you being a BIG girl now, together with your acrobatic moves and 'kung fu' legs, daddy decided to take the sofa-bed instead. As mommy do not have the habit of you sleeping beside me, every move you make mommy would definitely peek at you to make sure you're ok. Daddy didn't have a good sleep as he wasn't accustomed to having his bed vibrate when he sleeps haahaa...

Anyway made you your milk, changed you (long sleeves for you as there was a strong wind blowing since the rain just stopped) and headed out for our breakfast. Not sure if its the sea breeze which makes you feel full? throughout the whole trip you could not finish your milk at all which made mommy MAD at you!!! After tim sum breakfast, we proceeded to explore the ship with you. You definitely seemed very fascinated with your surroundings and seemed to know you're on a ship and not on land when we pointed out the sea to you. We visited the arcade and you had a fun time playing with the games there.

Daddy & mommy wanted to let you have some fun in the ball pit which was at Charlie's Nursery but we had to leave you there instead of playing there with you as nobody is allowed into the nursery except the staffs. Had to leave you there under babysitting care at $19 per hour for you to use the facilities there. We couldn't leave you there as you would never never let a stranger (babysitter) look after you while we were out of your sight thus this nursery was not feasible for us. We decided to go for a swim before the pool gets chaotic with the many passengers on board. You had a fun time in the splash pool at the Aft of the ship thou the water was very cold... luckily mommy had brought along your thermal swimsuit which hopefully will make you feel warmer.

After your swim we spent some time lazing around and exploring the other parts of the ship. As we've decided not to join the land tours at KL which would be too much of a hassle with you, we managed to take a short tour around port klang which only consists of 2 provision shops and a hawker centre. Daddy had some pratas there and a glass of sugar cane drink which you had a little sip =)

The funny thing was although we were in malaysia, we didn't have to stamp our passports when we disembark the vessel. Our passports were confiscated once we board the ship in singapore and the only thing we use on board the ship are our access cards. Our access cards were also the items which enable our access to malaysia land without a passport! We just had to slide our access cards to disembark and embark back to our vessel... Wow not sure what star cruise agreement was with the malaysian authorities but this was definitely a first for us. We only managed to get some tibits from the provision shop and some toy beanies for you and cousin gemma. Everything on board was just charged to our access cards which we use to settle the bill before docking in singapore.

All in all we had a fun time on board the ship thou daddy felt kinda bored at times but mommy rather like the rest & relax lifestyle with no MUST visit places or things to do like on a tour. We hope you had as much fun as we did... Oh yes, you loved to run on the carpeted corridors and climb the steps like a BIG girl. You were up to mischief as usual and when daddy jokingly threaten to throw you overboard, mommy asked if you knew how to swim and to my surprise you actually nodded that you knew how to swim. Haahaa darling... going swimming does not mean you KNOW how to swim... *Muacks* you're just soo adorable at times like this...
